Privacy & cookies

What this site does with your data.

Short version. I run Google Analytics 4 on this site to see which pages people read. Before any GA cookie is set, you see a banner and decide whether to allow it. If you say no, nothing is stored. If you say yes, two cookies (_ga and _ga_*) are set by Google, and anonymised page views flow to my GA4 property. That is the entire story.

What I collect

With your consent: the URL you visited, the referrer, your approximate location (country and region, never your street), your browser and device type, and an anonymised ID so Google can tell a repeat visit from a new one. That's it.

I don't run ads, I don't sell data, and there are no third-party tags (no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight, no Hotjar). Just GA4.

What I don't collect

No email addresses, no account data, no contact form submissions (there's no form). If you email me, I have your message and address. I don't add you to any list.

Server logs

My hosting provider (Infomaniak, in Switzerland) keeps standard server access logs: IP address, timestamp, URL requested, HTTP status. These rotate and are not linked to the GA data. They exist to debug issues and fend off abuse.

Changing your mind

You can revoke consent any time. In most browsers, clearing cookies for leonhoulier.com resets the banner so you see it again. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to block GA on every site, not just mine.

Your rights (GDPR, briefly)

If you're in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to ask what I hold about you, to have it deleted, or to complain to a regulator. Email me. I'll respond within a week.
